If you are a fan of Planxty (and who isn’t?), then this is the tune that follows the Jolly Beggar. But I really learned it because it goes so well before The Maid Behind the Bar, that having learned one, I felt I needed to learn the other, although it is a little trickier than The Maid Behind the Bar. So I’m putting on the website well in advance of it being tune of the month so we have plenty of time to practice!
