Pull the Knife and Stick it Again

This gruesomely titled tune was suggested by John, but it is a great tune and will no doubt be popular despite its name! According to a discussion on thesession.org, the title refers to an old saying by the fairy-witch… however, it was a dangerous thing to do as, having removed the knife, you would lose control of the witch, and she might even be restored back to life, despite the fact that she had asked to be finished off with another stab. As ever, this is played in several keys, but Bm does seem to be popular and John was keen… and that way it fits on a D whistle in this key. Just make sure you start on a B.

And I think Talisk play it in Bm… (starting at 3.44)

Recordings:
Guitar
Fiddle and guitar (not sure of key)
Fiddle, accordion and guitar (think this is in Bm)
Banjo (although he might be playing it in Em)
