In January 2023, Noah and I travelled to Glasgow for Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas’s fiddle camp (great fun) and also heard Imar in the Old Fruit Market. Imar managed to get us all (around a thousand of us) to sing this tune and it stuck in my head. This tune is the first tune that I’ve managed to transcribe myself (because it is quite simple) and that was a satisfying step for me (although I had to learn to play it first and then try to write what I was playing!). Written by Simon Riopel, a fiddler and composer from Quebec, it has travelled well and can be found all over the place (at least on Youtube!).
