For a long time, I’ve enjoyed Martin Hayes’s Quartet playing this great tune but since they play it in Bb major, I thought it wouldn’t be very popular! But then I discovered that the University Ceilidh band, along with most other people, play it in G and that seemed just irresistible. It is often played fast, but it is also very lovely slowly and slightly swung. I hope it will prove a useful addition.
